Welcome to the TUNIX Open Air 2027 in Munich

TUNIX Open Air is the long-standing student festival of the Technical University of Munich, held annually at Königsplatz between the Glyptothek and the TUM cafeteria. Organised by the TUM Student Council under the motto “by students for students”, it offers five days of live music, beer garden atmosphere, good food and relaxed summer vibes with free admission. Following the successful 44th edition in 2026 (29 June to 3 July), the next edition is expected for 2027.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027

TUNIX Open Air usually runs for five days from Monday to Friday in late June or early July. Numerous bands perform daily on the stage next to the Glyptothek. The programme covers a wide range: from singer-songwriter and indie to rock and metal, pop, funk and punk. There are also open-stage slots, cultural contributions and relaxed beer garden times. The exact dates and line-up for 2027 will be announced in good time by the TUM Student Council. Official information will be published on tunix-openair.de and the TUM channels.

Tickets & Admission for TUNIX Open Air Munich

Admission to TUNIX Open Air is free of charge, as in previous years. Costs only arise for food and drinks, which are calculated with students in mind and therefore kept affordable. Vouchers can be purchased on site or in advance. The festival is open to the public and welcomes students, TUM employees and all interested visitors. Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Munich

  • Best reached by public transport: U-Bahn U2 station Königsplatz is right at the venue; alternatively tram lines 27 or 28.
  • Bring light summer clothing and sun protection – Königsplatz is open and can get warm in the sunshine. Rain gear is useful in case of showers.
  • Book accommodation in Maxvorstadt or central Munich early, as the summer months are very popular in the city.
  • Arrive early in the day to secure good spots near the stage and experience the keg tapping.
  • The festival combines well with a visit to the Glyptothek, the Pinakotheken or a stroll through Maxvorstadt.
