When does Tuska Open Air 2027 take place in Helsinki?
Tuska Open Air takes place from 2 to 4 July 2027 (Friday to Sunday). The festival is widely regarded as the biggest heavy metal festival in Northern Europe and has been held right in the center of Helsinki since 2011, on the site of a former power and gas plant.
Where is the venue? Suvilahti in Helsinki
The festival takes place at Suvilahti, a cultural area in the Kalasatama neighbourhood of the Sörnäinen district, a little more than one kilometre north of downtown Helsinki. The former industrial halls and gasometers form a striking backdrop for several stages, including the Karhu Main Stage. The venue is easy to reach on foot, by metro or by public transport.

How to get to Suvilahti: travel and visitor tips
- Kalasatama metro station is just a short walk from the festival grounds.
- Tickets must be exchanged for a wristband at the exchange station inside the REDI shopping centre before entering.
- Only buy tickets through the official vendors Tiketti or Lippu.fi to avoid fraud.
- Since Suvilahti sits right in the city, hotels and accommodation across Helsinki are easily reachable by bus, train or on foot.
- Plan ahead for all three festival days, as popular bands can lead to overlapping stage schedules.
