Welcome to the Ulm Christmas Market 2026 in Ulm
The Ulm Christmas Market 2026 transforms Münsterplatz from 19 November to 22 December into a festive little town within the city. Right in front of the world’s tallest church steeple, visitors enjoy more than 130 lovingly decorated stalls, the scent of mulled wine and roasted almonds, and the unique atmosphere beneath Ulm Minster.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026
The market opens on 19 November 2026 with a pre-opening and runs until 22 December. It remains closed on Remembrance Sunday (22 November); the official opening takes place on 23 November. Opening hours are daily from 10:00 to 20:30. In addition to shopping, visitors can enjoy regular music programmes at the Minster portal, fairy-tale storytelling for children and the popular live nativity. The market is regarded as one of the most atmospheric Christmas markets in southern Germany and attracts over one million visitors each year.

Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Ulm
- Public transport: From Ulm main station you can reach Münsterplatz on foot in about 10–15 minutes or take tram lines 1 and 2 to the Theater stop.
- Warm, weatherproof clothing and sturdy shoes are recommended, as the market takes place outdoors and November/December can be cold and damp.
- Book accommodation in the old town or near the station early, as the market is very popular during peak season.
- Use nearby multi-storey car parks (e.g. at the town hall or Salzstadel); Münsterplatz itself is closed to traffic during the market.
- Visit early in the day or on weekdays to avoid crowds and enjoy the atmosphere at a leisurely pace.

On 13 December 2026 a small Christmas market takes place at Roxy (89077 Ulm) featuring exclusively handmade goods. Visitors can find jewellery, decorative items, bags and self-sewn clothing – ideal for unique gifts.
