Welcome to the Union of Freaks 2027 in Oliveira do Hospital
Union of Freaks 2027 is the small, independent Goa trance camping gathering run by 604 Freaks Productions in inland Portugal. The last edition ran 18–20 September 2026 at Parque de Campismo de São Gião in Oliveira do Hospital, after a venue change away from the originally announced Mafra area. Dates and the exact site for 2027 are not confirmed yet; the pattern is a three-day September camp with tents under the trees, a natural swimming spot on the Rio Alva and a dancefloor that runs through the night. - A compact revivalist gathering for classic Goa trance: independent, DIY and community-driven, built by 604 Freaks Productions since 2018.
- Forest camping rather than a city festival: shaded pitches, showers, a food court, flea market, and complimentary car and caravan parking on site.
- A riverside setting at São Gião on the Rio Alva – swim and rest by day, psychedelic stage and visuals after dark.

- Small capacity and a family feel: comparable crew events (Parallel Freaks 2025 in Sobral da Abelheira) were capped at a few hundred people.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
The 2027 programme has not been published. Union of Freaks is a revivalist gathering: pure Goa trance, producer sets rather than DJ-only line-ups, classic 1990s acts beside the younger 604 Freaks generation. In 2026 the site opened on Friday afternoon (about 13:30 on the ticket platform) and wound down on Sunday evening (about 22:00); sister events by the same crew often let campers in the evening before. Day-by-day set times usually appear shortly before the gathering, via the crew’s own channels.
Venue note: early 2026 announcements still named Mafra; the crew then moved the festival to the São Gião campsite (Oliveira do Hospital, Coimbra district). Other 604 Freaks gatherings – including Parallel Freaks 2025 – have been held at Quinta Vale D’Água in Sobral da Abelheira (Mafra). Whether 2027 stays in São Gião, returns to the Mafra area or lands in a new forest is not confirmed. Do not travel until the organiser has locked the site and dates.
Tickets & Admission for Union of Freaks Oliveira do Hospital
Tickets for Union of Freaks 2027 are not on sale yet. In 2026 presale ran through Shotgun and Ticket Tailor; online sales closed and remaining tickets were sold at the door. A public price list for the 2026 edition was not posted in a verifiable table. For orientation, the sister gathering Parallel Freaks 2025 from the same crew (Quinta Vale D’Água, Sobral da Abelheira) was around 80 euro – typical for a small multi-day Goa camp in Portugal. 2027 prices may differ. Buy only through official 604 Freaks Productions channels (Shotgun, Ticket Tailor, Instagram link in bio). Camping, parking and caravan spots were part of the 2026 site plan, not a separate glamping upsell.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Oliveira do Hospital
- Getting there: São Gião sits in the Coimbra district, about 3 km from the village, on the N17 and the Rio Alva, roughly 30 km from the Serra da Estrela. By car it is about 2.5–3 hours from Lisbon and a little over 2 hours from Porto. Oliveira do Hospital is the nearest town; there is no dedicated long-distance station, so the last stretch is car, ride-share or taxi. Airports: Porto (OPO) and Lisbon (LIS). There is no big-festival shuttle – carpools in the scene are the norm.
- Weather and clothing: Mid-September inland Portugal often means 22–28 °C by day and a sharp drop at night. Forest dancefloors can be both dusty and damp. Pack layers, closed shoes, a rain poncho, a sun hat and a warm hoodie for the morning after. Rigid gazebos and open fire are routinely banned at this crew’s events.
- Where to stay: This is a camping gathering. If you will not tent, look at rooms in Oliveira do Hospital, Seia or nearby villages – stock is limited, so book once dates are confirmed. Caravan pitches were planned on site in 2026.
- On site: The food court and market only partly replace a supermarket; bring drinking water, cash and a reusable cup (Parallel Freaks at times had no drinking-water point and no ATM). No glass, no litter in the woods, dogs often limited to the caravan area. The river swim spot is for cooling off, not a club pool.
- House rules: Festival listings flag Union of Freaks as 18+; Parallel Freaks 2025 allowed under-12s free with an adult. Check 2027 rules with the organiser. The event is small, loud and run by volunteers – respect for neighbours, crew and the land is part of the brief. Follow only @604freaksproductions and Shotgun; ignore third-party sellers.
