Welcome to the Valley of Sound 2027 in Kleinwalsertal

Valley of Sound returns to Kleinwalsertal in Austria’s Vorarlberg region in 2027 after its March 2026 debut. The official festival account has announced 4–7 March 2027; the tourism website still lists lineup and full details as forthcoming. The concept stays the same: daytime sets on ski-area terraces and mountain huts, evening shows in the valley, with music, winter sports and alpine scenery sharing one compact valley.

Highlights & Attractions at Valley of Sound in Kleinwalsertal

  • Four festival days in 2027 across one valley instead of a single main stage
  • Electronic sets, DJs, live bands and a wide mix that in 2026 ran from techno and hip-hop to rock and evergreens
  • Venues on the mountain and in the valley, including Walmendingerhorn, Kanzelwand, Ifen and Riezlern village square
  • Ski or snowboard by day, then step into concerts and after-ski without leaving the resort
  • Short walks between slopes, stages and existing huts and restaurants – no temporary mega-site
  • Presented by Kleinwalsertal Tourism with Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal Bergbahnen
  • Mountain venues require a valid lift ticket (single ride, day pass or season pass)

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027

The 2027 artist list and timetable had not been published on the official website at the time of writing. The 2026 edition ran roughly from late morning into the night: daytime sets at alpine restaurants such as Obere Luechle Alpe, Max’s hut, Ifenhuette, the Kanzelwand panorama restaurant and Gipfelstuba, plus longer evening bills at valley and pass venues such as Hörnlepass. Confirmed 2026 names included The Monroes, Buron Band, Trioldys and DJs such as Harris, Dan Gerous and Jaxx TMS. Expect a similar ski-by-day, dance-by-night rhythm in 2027, but treat any specific act or hour as unconfirmed until kleinwalsertal.com/valleyofsound is updated.

Tickets & Admission for Valley of Sound Kleinwalsertal

In 2026 every show was free; mountain stages still required an Oberstdorf Kleinwalsertal lift ticket. For 2027 the official account said tickets would go on sale from September 2026, but face-value festival prices had not been released in early September 2026. A 2026/27 adult day pass for the whole ski area is about EUR 72.90; a 3-hour ticket is about EUR 59.50 (plus keycard deposit). Valley-only stages may stay cheaper or free – that has not been confirmed. Check kleinwalsertal.com/valleyofsound and the lift shop at ok-bergbahnen.com/shop before you travel.

Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Kleinwalsertal

  • The valley has no direct road from the rest of Austria; you enter via Oberstdorf, Germany. Use car, train to Oberstdorf plus the Walserbus, or seasonal long-distance buses (including from Munich).
  • March weather swings between sun, wind and fresh snow. Pack layers, winter boots and ski or snowboard gear for high venues; some 2026 mountain sets were reachable only on skis or a snowboard.
  • Book beds early in Riezlern, Hirschegg or Mittelberg – four festival days sit in late winter high demand.
  • Bring photo ID for discounted lift tickets and check the morning forecast on the mountain-railway site.
  • Match last lifts with evening sets; stay in the villages if you plan late valley shows, and use the Walserbus rather than assuming night skiing access.
