Welcome to the New Year's Eve 2026/2027 in Verbier

New Year's Eve in Verbier is one of the best-known alpine celebrations in Switzerland. From 31 December 2026 to 1 January 2027 the resort in Val de Bagnes mixes a village street party with après-ski, club nights and private chalet dinners. The traditional meeting point is Place Centrale, framed by the 4 Valleys ski area and a densely packed nightlife scene.

As of September 2026 the official municipal programme for New Year 2026/2027 has not been fully released. After very large crowds in previous years and a wider safety review in Valais, the exact format of the midnight gathering and any fireworks may still change. Check verbier.ch for confirmed times, venue and display details before you travel.

Highlights & Attractions at New Year's Eve in Verbier

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026/2027

31 December usually starts on the slopes and moves into après-ski. Restaurants fill early, so tables for the evening should be reserved well ahead. Towards midnight many guests walk into the centre. Historically this is less a single ticketed festival than a local tradition: a countdown, champagne, music spilling from bars and – depending on the year – fireworks above the valley.

On 1 January, Verbier Tourism has in past seasons hosted a free aperitif on Place Centrale, typically from 17:00 to 18:30. An official fireworks display has previously been fired from Le Carrefour; on 1 January 2026 it was cancelled in solidarity with the events in Crans-Montana. Whether the 2027 display and the gathering return in the familiar form had not been confirmed by autumn 2026. Alternatives include mountain-hut dinners such as Cabane Mont Fort and a chamber concert as a calmer prelude to the holiday week.

Tickets & Admission for New Year's Eve Verbier

The public countdown in the village centre is generally free. Costs come from restaurants, clubs and special dinners. Club tickets and après-ski nights have typically ranged from the low to mid hundreds of euros; luxury New Year menus at properties such as W Verbier recently reached around 850 euros per person. Mountain-hut and hotel galas sit between those levels. 2026/2027 prices are usually published in autumn; book directly with each venue or via verbier.ch.

There is no single resort-wide festival ticket. If you want a specific club or a set menu, secure it with the organiser. Many late-night venues admit guests aged 18 and over only.
