Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Vienna

  • All festival cinemas are centrally located and easily reached by U-Bahn (U1, U3, U4) and tram; Gartenbaukino is near Stubentor or Stadtpark stations.
  • Pack warm, weatherproof clothing for October/November in Vienna – evenings can be cool and rainy.
  • Book accommodation in the first district or near the Ringstrasse early, as the festival draws large crowds.
  • Secure the free Pocketguide (programme booklet) and check the full schedule on 13 October to reserve desired films in time.
  • Advance online booking is strongly recommended; popular screenings and galas often sell out quickly.
