Welcome to the New Year's Eve 2026/2027 in Warsaw
New Year's Eve and New Year 2026/2027 in Warsaw unfold across the city rather than on one official outdoor stage. On 31 December 2026 and 1 January 2027, locals and visitors gather at Castle Square, in the Old Town, along the Royal Route and around the Palace of Culture and Science on Defilad Square. As of September 2026, City Hall has not announced a single municipal open-air concert with an official fireworks show, in line with recent years. The night is shaped by illuminations, the Christmas market, clubs, hotel balls and concert halls.
Highlights & Attractions at New Year's Eve in Warsaw
- Free midnight gathering on Castle Square (Plac Zamkowy) in front of the Royal Castle, with the main city Christmas tree and the lit facades of the reconstructed Old Town

- Festivaland on 31 December 2026 from 18:00 at Expo XXI (12/14 Pradzynskiego Street), an indoor EDM night with names such as Darude, Blasterjaxx, Quintino and Lucas and Steve

- Hotel balls and rooftop parties with skyline views, including venues inside and around the Palace of Culture
- Food halls such as Hala Koszyki, Elektrownia Powisle and Browary Warszawskie with DJ sets, set menus and a midnight toast
- Private fireworks still appear in many districts even though the city regularly asks residents not to use them for animal welfare and safety; there is no confirmed official city fireworks display

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026/2027
31 December 2026 often starts in the afternoon at the Christmas market and in the illuminated Old Town. Major ticketed events such as Festivaland at Expo XXI begin around 18:00. Opera, philharmonic and theatre houses usually schedule galas and special performances at 19:00 or 20:00. Clubs and food halls fill from about 21:00 to 22:00. At midnight, crowds concentrate on Castle Square and the Royal Route for an outdoor countdown. 1 January 2027 is a public holiday: many museums and shops run shorter hours, while brunch and quiet walks through the still-lit centre mark New Year's Day.
There is no confirmed single municipal stage lineup. Check PIK Warszawa and Go To Warsaw close to the date, because club nights, theatre slots and hotel packages are still being added. Book Festivaland for electronic music and reserve concert halls early for Chopin or opera.
Tickets & Admission for New Year's Eve Warsaw
Public squares, the Old Town and the Christmas market have free admission. Paid options roughly range from about 30 euro for basic club entry to about 330 euro for upscale hotel balls with buffet and open bar (conversion as of early September 2026, around 4.32 PLN per euro; box-office prices are listed in zloty). Festivaland standard tickets have been offered from about 239 to 255 PLN (around 55 to 59 euro) and VIP tickets from about 799 PLN (around 185 euro) via eBilet. Recent Fryderyk Concert Hall prices were 180 PLN for students, 220 PLN regular and 400 PLN VIP. Opera, philharmonic and hotel seats sell out; buy months ahead. Use PIK Warszawa, Go To Warsaw, eBilet and official venue pages for live availability.
Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Warsaw
- Getting there: Chopin Airport sits about 10 kilometres south of the centre; urban rail, bus and taxi reach the Old Town and the Palace of Culture in roughly 25 to 40 minutes. The metro usually runs all night on New Year's Eve; ZTM publishes the 2026/2027 timetable shortly before the date.
- Weather and dress: Late December in Warsaw often hovers around freezing, with wind or snow. Wear layers, a hat, gloves and waterproof shoes for the squares; clubs and balls often request smart attire.
- Hotels: Properties in Srodmiescie, the Old Town and around the Palace of Culture sell out. Book three to four months ahead and stay within walking distance of Castle Square or Metro Centrum.
- Crowds and safety: Castle Square gets dense at midnight and private fireworks are common. Keep distance from pyrotechnics and agree on a meeting point, because mobile networks can stall around 00:00.
- Backup plan: If outdoor areas are too cold or packed, switch to food halls, Kinoteka inside the Palace of Culture or a reserved restaurant. Late-night alcohol sales may be restricted in some districts after 22:00; confirm the current city rule before you go.
