Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026

The Mühldorfer Christkindlmarkt from 26 to 29 November 2026 is open Thursday to Saturday from 3 pm to 9 pm and Sunday from 1 pm to 8 pm. Brass bands, choirs and music groups create a festive soundtrack. St. Nicholas appears daily at 4 pm. On Saturday the traditional Haberer and Druden make their entrance. Children enjoy puppet theatre, a winter elf and free face painting.

The Altstadtweihnacht from 3 to 20 December 2026 opens daily from 4 pm until around 8:30 pm on the central island of the Stadtplatz opposite the town hall. Local clubs and vendors serve mulled wine and punch at the large pyramid along with chestnuts, stollen, langos and other treats. The atmosphere invites visitors to linger and stroll through the illuminated old town.

Mühldorfer Christkindlmarkt 2026

The classic Christkindlmarkt around the historic Haberkasten and St. Nicholas Church offers a magical atmosphere with romantic lighting between the town walls. On the first floor of the Haberkasten the history centre presents Bavarian handicrafts, customs and traditions. More than 30 stalls invite visitors to enjoy mulled wine, punch, tea and both savoury and sweet specialities. Admission is free.

Mühldorfer Altstadtweihnacht 2026

After successful previous years, the Altstadtweihnacht returns for its third edition in 2026. On the central island of the Stadtplatz a large illuminated Christmas pyramid serves as the main meeting point. Local associations and vendors provide culinary highlights and festive cheer. The event revitalises the town centre and extends the pre-Christmas joy beyond the Christkindlmarkt. Admission is free.
