Weihnachtsmarkt Arnsberg 2026 is not open every day. It runs in three blocks: Friday–Sunday, 27–29 November; Thursday–Sunday, 3–6 December; and Thursday–Sunday, 10–13 December. Mondays to Wednesdays in between are closed. Typical hours in the current timetable are Thursday 15:00–20:00, Friday 15:00–22:00, Saturday 14:00–22:00 and Sunday 12:00–18:00. Opening day, Friday 27 November, starts at 15:00; closing day, Sunday 13 December, ends at 18:00.
Expect mulled wine, roasted almonds, regional specialities, crafts and a varied stage programme in the old town. The tourist office has confirmed more live entertainment for 2026, but the full artist list had not been published in full as of September 2026; check arnsberg-info.de closer to the dates. Previous editions featured an official opening by the mayor, acoustic duos, Irish folk, a nativity play, a fire show and a visit from Santa Claus. The charity market Weihnachtsmarkt der guten Taten returns in December 2026 on Steinweg / Alter Markt; the city of Arnsberg will announce the exact day nearer the time.

Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Arnsberg
- By car: A46, exit 65 Arnsberg-Altstadt/Niedereimer; Altstadtgarage at Neumarkt 6a is about a three-minute walk from the market. Parking there is usually free on Sundays and public holidays. By train: Arnsberg station on the RE17 Sauerland-Express, then a 15–20 minute walk via Clemens-August-Straße.
- Late November and December in the Sauerland are often damp, frosty or lightly snowy. Wear sturdy winter shoes with grip, a hat, scarf and gloves; the lanes are cobbled and compact.
- Book rooms early in the old town or in the districts of Neheim and Hüsten, especially for Advent weekends. The tourist office keeps local host lists.
- Mulled wine is typically served in a deposit mug; payment methods vary by stall. Combine the market with the Sauerland-Museum or a view of the castle ruin above the old town.
- Do not confuse this event with the forest Christmas market at Wildwald Vosswinkel, which is separate and charged. Check arnsberg-info.de for last-minute programme changes; the 2026 stage schedule may still be updated.
