Welcome to the Bielefeld Christmas Market 2026 in Bielefeld
The Bielefeld Christmas Market is one of the largest and most popular Christmas markets in North Rhine-Westphalia. From 19 November to 30 December 2026 it transforms the entire city centre into a festive setting. The market is closed on Totensonntag (22 November) and from 24 to 26 December 2026. More than 110 lovingly decorated wooden stalls stretch from Alter Markt via Jahnplatz to Altstädter Kirchplatz and Klosterplatz.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026
The Christmas market runs through Bielefeld’s city centre, combining traditional charm with modern elements. Alter Markt features half-timbered-style stalls against a historic backdrop, while Jahnplatz offers a modern hut village centred around the large pyramid. Visitors can try ice curling on Klosterplatz. Culinary highlights range from classic mulled wine and Feuerzangenbowle to hearty dishes and sweet treats. Musical contributions and the scent of almonds and gingerbread complete the experience. Opening hours are generally daily from 12:00 to 21:00, extended to 22:00 on Fridays and Saturdays (subject to change).
