The Christmas market at Charlottenburg Palace is Berlin’s most romantic stall city: a baroque façade, dusk light-mapping and more than 100 huts in the cour d’honneur and the gardens in front of the palace. It runs from 23 November to 27 December 2026, Monday to Thursday 13:00–22:00 and Friday to Sunday 12:00–22:00. Closed on 24 December; visitBerlin lists 12:00–22:00 on 25 and 26 December. This is an evening-leaning market: weekdays from 13:00, weekends from 12:00, always until 22:00. The peak is dusk, when the baroque façade lights up and the mapping show starts. Street acts, brass and live Christmas music fill the square; there is no arena-scale stage like Gendarmenmarkt. Food runs from snacks to full tent menus. Last published prices (2025; 2026 not yet official) were 5 EUR for mulled wine, 7 EUR with a shot, 4 EUR for children’s punch, 3 EUR mug deposit and 5 EUR for a grilled sausage. Collectible glasses are made for this market. Carousels stay the fixed children’s programme. Dogs are often unwelcome at Berlin markets – check signs at the palace gates.

Ehrenhof, palace square and gardens at Charlottenburg Palace

Stalls spread across the cour d’honneur, the façade square and parts of the front gardens – not a single alley. That creates quieter pockets off the main axes, while the palace front remains the backdrop. Best photos come after about 16:30 in winter, when illumination and hut lights overlap. The park behind the palace is a short, calmer loop. The interiors (Old Palace and New Wing) need a separate SPSG ticket: 12 EUR, 8 EUR reduced; closed Mondays and on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day 2026.

Façade mapping is what separates this market from Mitte and the Memorial Church. Lasers and colour sit on real baroque stone, not a festival wall. Christmas market at the Memorial Church – City West next to Charlottenburg

A few U-Bahn stops away, the market at Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church runs 23 November 2026 to 3 January 2027 on Breitscheidplatz (Kurfürstendamm 237). Free entry. About 60 international stalls, Feuerzangenbowle, carousels and direct shopping on Ku’damm. 2026 hours were not yet posted on berlin.de; last season was roughly Sun–Thu 11:00–21:00, Fri–Sat 11:00–22:00, short hours on Christmas Eve. Strong second stop: Charlottenburg at blue hour, then City West. U2 links Sophie-Charlotte-Platz with Wittenbergplatz / Zoologischer Garten.

Christmas in Westend and Charlottenburg’s neighbourhood Advent markets

Three local markets stay the quiet counterweight to the palace. Christmas in Westend is on 19–20 December 2026 in Preußenallee – small, neighbourhood-scale, with its famous trunked mascot. The Leonhardtstraße Advent mile is confirmed for 6 December 2026. The crafts market on Karl-August-Platz starts 29 November 2026 and continues on the first three Sundays of Advent. The mini market in front of the Bröhan-Museum (opposite the palace) and St George’s “Very British Christmas Market” had not published 2026 dates by September – both are worth asking about because they sit within walking distance of the palace.

WeihnachtsZauber Gendarmenmarkt – the elegant contrast in Mitte

Berlin’s luxury market runs 23 November to 31 December 2026, Sun–Thu 12:00–22:00, Fri–Sat 12:00–23:00, Christmas Eve 12:00–18:00, New Year’s Eve until midnight. Admission 2 EUR (under 12 free; Mon–Fri 12:00–14:00 free except 24/25/26/31 December). In 2026 it is back on the original Gendarmenmarkt between the German and French cathedrals and the Konzerthaus. Gourmet tents, a craft marquee, a stage programme – busier and pricier than Charlottenburg, and the logical second address for a Berlin weekend.

Humboldt Forum winter market and Lucia at Kulturbrauerei

The winter market in front of the Berlin Palace / Humboldt Forum (Schlossplatz and Schlüterhof) is listed on berlin.de from 18 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, free entry – the Mitte baroque counterpart to Charlottenburg. Lucia at Kulturbrauerei in Prenzlauer Berg runs 23 November to 22 December 2026: Scandinavian design, glögg and crafts in a brewery courtyard. Berliner Weihnachtszeit at Rotes Rathaus (ice rink around the Neptune Fountain, Ferris wheel) had not confirmed 2026 dates on berlin.de as of September 2026; older calendars point to late November through New Year – verify before you go.

Tickets & Admission for the Charlottenburg Palace Christmas Market Berlin

Entry to the Charlottenburg Palace Christmas Market is free in 2026; there are no market tickets. You pay only for food, rides, mug deposits and an optional palace visit. Last published food prices (2025; 2026 not yet official): mulled wine 5 EUR, 7 EUR with a shot, children’s punch 4 EUR, 3 EUR deposit, sausage 5 EUR. Carousel and mini Ferris wheel are extra. The Old Palace is 12 EUR (8 EUR reduced); the charlottenburg+ combo covers the garden palaces for one day via SPSG ticket offices. • Getting there: Public transport wins; palace parking is scarce and paid. Buses M45 and 109 stop at Luisenplatz/Schloss Charlottenburg; bus 309 at Klausenerplatz and the palace. U2 to Sophie-Charlotte-Platz, then about ten minutes on foot. Ring S-Bahn S41/S42/S46 to Westend plus a short walk or bus. A Deutschland-Ticket or 24-hour BVG ticket covers palace plus City West plus Mitte in one day.
