Welcome to the Christmas Market at the Château de Morges 2026
From December 2 to 20, 2026, the gardens of the Château de Morges on the shore of Lake Geneva turn into a festive Christmas market. The castle itself dates back to the late 13th century, built by the House of Savoy as a fortress and now home to several military museums. Between its historic walls, in the courtyard and in the vaulted cellars, illuminated wooden chalets create a warm holiday atmosphere, and admission for every visitor remains completely free.

- Over 100 artisans in chalets spread across the castle gardens, the courtyard and the old harbor
- Some of the stalls are set up inside the castle's historic vaulted cellars
- A large communal chalet at the center of the garden serving seasonal food with live concerts
- A visit from Santa Claus for younger guests
- Face painting workshops, an escape game and guided tours through the Château de Morges
- A lakeside setting with views across Lake Geneva toward Mont Blanc

Visitor Tips: Travel and Accommodation in Morges
- Morges sits just a few kilometers west of Lausanne and is well connected by train
- Morges train station is within easy walking distance of both the castle and the lakeshore
- As the market stays open into the evening, warm clothing is advisable given the proximity to the lake
- Accommodation in Morges and nearby Lausanne should be booked early during the Advent season
- Pairing the market with a stroll through the old town of Morges and along the lakeside promenade is well worth it
Bô Noël in Lausanne
Only about ten kilometers east of Morges, Bô Noël transforms the center of Lausanne into a sprawling, multi location Christmas market from November 19 to December 31, 2026. Highlights include a Ferris wheel, an ice rink in the heart of the city and heated igloos serving regional Vaud specialties such as fondue. Access to the market areas is also free of charge.
Montreux Noël
At the other end of Lake Geneva, the Montreux Christmas market ranks among the largest and best known in Switzerland. From November 20 to December 24, 2026, around 150 illuminated chalets line the lakeside promenade, while Santa flies over the market by sleigh several times a day. The market is complemented by a medieval Christmas experience at Château de Chillon and a Santa workshop on the Rochers de Naye.
