Welcome to the Christmas Shift & Advent Markets 2026 in Clausthal-Zellerfeld
The Christmas Shift at the Upper Harz Mining Museum takes place on 28 and 29 November 2026 from 11:00 to 18:00 in Clausthal-Zellerfeld. Visitors experience a unique blend of industrial mining heritage and festive Advent atmosphere on the historic grounds of the UNESCO World Heritage site. Additional atmospheric Advent events complement the programme in the mining town throughout the pre-Christmas season.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2026
The Christmas Shift on the first Advent weekend (28 and 29 November 2026) offers market stalls, culinary treats and hourly guided tours from 11:00 through the festively lit show mine. Musical performances, readings and children’s activities provide variety. Typically, further events follow on subsequent Advent weekends: the Upper Harz Advent Magic in and around St. Salvatoris Church in Zellerfeld with stalls, concerts and a nativity exhibition, as well as the Clausthal Advent Magic in the courtyard of Clausthal University of Technology with club stands and a visit from St. Nicholas. Exact dates and programmes for the later events will be published in autumn 2026.
Tickets & Admission for Christmas Shift Clausthal-Zellerfeld
Admission to the Christmas Shift market area is usually around 4 Euro for adults and 2.50 Euro reduced. With a guided tour of the show mine the prices are approximately 7.50 Euro (adults) and 4.50 Euro (reduced). Children and eligible visitors receive discounted rates.
