Welcome to Wien Modern 2026 in Vienna
From October 30 to November 30, 2026, Vienna turns into a stage for contemporary music for an entire month. Wien Modern was founded in 1988 at the initiative of Claudio Abbado and today ranks among the largest festivals of its kind worldwide, with concerts spread across almost every district of the city.

Program and Schedule: What to Expect in 2026
The full 2026 program is traditionally published on the official website in early September. Already confirmed is the world premiere of a full length work by Pia Palme on opening night, performed by the ORF Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna in the newly renovated Great Hall of the Wiener Konzerthaus. Throughout November, further concerts follow at the Musikverein, the MAK and many other locations across the city.
Tickets and Admission for Wien Modern Vienna
Individual ticket prices for 2026 will be published together with the program in early September. For reference, the previous edition's festival pass cost 135 euros, or 54 to 108 euros with a discount, granting admission to numerous productions plus discounted extra tickets from 5 euros. Some events are free to attend. Passes and tickets are available online and at the Ticket and Service Centre of the Wiener Konzerthaus.
