Welcome to the Wiener Bierfest 2027 in Vienna
Wiener Bierfest returns in 2027 to historic Am Hof square in Vienna’s city centre. Around 30 Austrian breweries present more than 100 beers – from classics such as Stiegl, Ottakringer, Gösser and Zwettler to craft specialties. Admission is free. Exact 2027 dates will be published on wienerbierfest.at; in previous years the festival was held in late May, in 2026 from 28 to 31 May.

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
Wiener Bierfest typically runs for four days and usually opens around 11:00, most days until 22:00. Mornings and early afternoons feature brass Frühschoppen sessions; barrel tappings follow in the afternoon and live bands in the evening. In 2026 the line-up included Marokko Stampeders, Die Stritzis, the Radio Wien Band and Einstimmig. The 2027 programme has not been announced yet and will appear on the official website.
Traditional names include Stiegl, Murauer, Gösser, Wieselburger, Ottakringer, Zwettler, Schremser, Trumer, Hirter, Schladminger and Schloss Eggenberg, alongside craft producers such as Beaver Brewing, Bräuhaus Ten.Fifty and Brauwerk Wien. You pay only for drinks and food; glasses often require a deposit.

Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Vienna
- Use public transport: U3 Herrengasse, U2 Schottentor or U1/U3 Stephansplatz; buses 1A, 2A and 3A serve the inner city
- Late May can be cool or rainy – bring a light jacket; the festival is outdoors
- Book hotels in the Innere Stadt, near the Hofburg or Graben early, as public holidays around that period can increase demand
- Carry cash or a card for deposits and ask stalls how glass refunds work
- The site is accessible; it gets crowded, so a weekday or early afternoon visit is more relaxed
