On the evening of February 4, 2027, the Wiener Staatsoper once again turns into the most elegant ballroom in the world. Held since 1935, the Opera Ball is the social highlight of Vienna's ball season, bringing together opera stars, the State Ballet and around 5,000 elegantly dressed guests under one roof.

Program and Schedule: What to Expect on the Night
The evening traditionally opens around 9 pm with a ceremonial opening in which young couples from the ladies and gentlemen's committee formally launch the ball season. From then on, the entire opera house, from the cellar to the attic, becomes one large ballroom with several dance floors and music ranging from classical waltz to pop. Celebrations continue until around 5 am, when the last guests leave the building.
Tickets and Admission for the Vienna Opera Ball 2027
A standard admission ticket for the 2027 Opera Ball costs 435 euros, which includes a 35 euro solidarity contribution to a social initiative. Guests who also want a seat at a table pay an additional 230 euros per person. Boxes are considerably more exclusive, ranging from around 15,000 to 26,000 euros depending on location. Standard tickets are allocated through a lottery, with registration handled in advance on the official website.

- Since the Opera Ball sells out months in advance, tickets and travel should be arranged early
