Welcome to the Wir sind Wien.Festival 2027 in Vienna
Wir sind Wien.Festival was Vienna’s free district festival for 17 years: local stages, jazz, pop and global sounds in parks and squares across the city. The last edition ran from 1 to 23 June 2025. Organiser BASiS.KULTUR.WiEN has officially stated that the festival will not continue in this form in 2026 or 2027. Anyone looking for free open-air culture in Vienna in summer 2027 should instead follow Kultursommer Wien (2 July to 15 August 2027).

Program & Schedule: What to Expect in 2027
There is no 2027 programme for Wir sind Wien.Festival because the event has been discontinued. Searches for “Wir sind Wien.Festival 2027 dates” will not lead to a valid lineup. Until 2025, each June evening focused on a different district, typically from around 19:00, bringing music, theatre and performance into local neighbourhoods.
For summer 2027, Kultursommer Wien is confirmed from 2 July to 15 August 2027, with free admission. The open-air festival stages cabaret, literature, music, dance, performance, theatre and contemporary circus in parks and residential districts. The detailed 2027 evening schedule and stage locations will be published closer to the dates at kultursommer.wien. Artist open calls usually open in December of the previous year.
Tickets & Admission for Wir sind Wien.Festival Vienna
There are no tickets for Wir sind Wien.Festival 2027 because no edition is planned. Historically, admission was free (EUR 0). Kultursommer Wien 2027 is also free according to the organiser; no entrance tickets are sold. Some workshops or special formats may require registration, as with earlier Wir sind Wien walks. Visitor Tips: Travel & Accommodation in Vienna
- Getting there: Vienna is easy by rail (Wien Hauptbahnhof, Westbahnhof) and by U-Bahn/tram; neighbourhood stages are usually a short walk from local stops.
- What to wear: June and July evenings in Vienna are often warm; still bring a light layer and a picnic mat for park concerts.
- Where to stay: Book hotels or guesthouses near Stadtpark, the Gürtel or the Danube early if you plan to combine Kultursommer dates in July and August 2027.

Kultursommer Wien 2027 runs from 2 July to 15 August and is the next citywide free open-air festival after the end of Wir sind Wien.Festival.
