WorldPride Amsterdam 2026 – A Historic Global Celebration
From 25 July to 8 August 2026, Amsterdam becomes the centre of the global LGBTQIA+ community. For the first time in history, a Dutch city hosts WorldPride — simultaneously serving as EuroPride 2026 — under the theme "UNITY". The occasion is deeply meaningful: on 1 April 2001, the Netherlands became the first country in the world to legalise same-sex marriage. In 2026, Amsterdam and the entire LGBTQIA+ world celebrate 25 years of marriage equality together.
Programme Highlights
- Pride Walk (25 July, 11:00–15:00) – Opening march from Dam Square to Vondelpark, free

The Canal Parade – The Heart of WorldPride
The absolute highlight of WorldPride Amsterdam is the Canal Parade on Saturday, 1 August 2026. The boat parade departs at 12:00 from Oosterdok and winds through Amsterdam's iconic historic canals. Uniquely this year, a temporary WorldPride Stadium with around 10,000 seats will be built on the Prinsengracht, with the parade sailing directly through it. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience that has never been done anywhere in the world before. The stadium, located between Leidsestraat and Spiegelgracht, is open from 10:00 to 17:00. Separate tickets are available for stadium seating (All Inclusive with food and drinks, or Seat Only). Watching the parade from the bridges and canal banks is entirely free of charge.
UNITY Concert at Museumplein
On 4 August 2026, Museumplein transforms into a massive open-air stage. The UNITY Concert brings together 25,000 visitors with performances from international artists including Billy Porter, Beth Ditto, Bryan B, Emma Kok and many more. Regular tickets are available from €22.50; late and door sale tickets from €27.50 (subject to availability). A passe-partout covering all three concerts is available from €45.00.
Tickets & Admission
Many WorldPride Amsterdam events are completely free: the Pride Walk, Pride Park, Canal Parade (street viewing), Street Parties, WorldPride Village and the MainStage at Dam Square. Tickets are required for select events including the UNITY Concert (from €22.50), Canal Parade Stadium seating, and the Human Rights Conference. Visitor Tips
- Buy Canal Parade Stadium and UNITY Concert tickets early; popular categories sell out fast.
- Use public transportation (metro, tram, bus) to reach the city centre; many streets are closed during the Canal Parade.
- Arrive at the Prinsengracht before 12:00 on 1 August to secure a good viewing spot.
- Hotels in Amsterdam fill up quickly during WorldPride; book several months in advance or consider staying in nearby cities such as Haarlem or Utrecht.
- WorldPride is a family-friendly event; many free activities suit all age groups.
- Rainbow colours and creative outfits are warmly encouraged throughout the festivities.
