Welcome to the Würzburg Wine Village 2027

From 26 May to 6 June 2027, Würzburg's market square transforms for the 39th time into a lively wine village in the heart of the old town. Around the Marienkapelle chapel, numerous stalls run by local winemakers and restaurateurs invite visitors to taste the best Franconian wines; the festival is considered one of the most popular and longest running wine events in the entire Franconia region.

Highlights

  • Over 100 different Franconian wines and Bocksbeutel bottles in one place
  • Historic setting around the market square and Marienkapelle chapel
  • Festive opening with the wine princess and ceremonial keg tapping
  • Studi Monday with special prices for students
  • Stalls run by numerous Würzburg winemakers and restaurateurs
  • Regional Franconian specialties to pair with the wine

Program

The Würzburg Wine Village traditionally opens with a festive ceremony on the first evening, when the reigning wine princess joins the innkeepers to tap the first keg. Over the eleven days, the wine stalls open daily from 11:00 AM to 11:30 PM; full bottles and Bocksbeutel are served until 10:30 PM, after which only wine by the glass is available. A popular feature is Studi Monday, when students can enjoy a selected Bocksbeutel at a special price, with each innkeeper offering a different wine. One evening also features the traditional gathering of the region's wine princesses.

Tickets

Visiting the Würzburg Wine Village is free; there is no admission fee for the festival grounds. Payment is made directly at the stalls for wine by the glass or bottle, as well as for food. A deposit is usually charged for the glasses and refunded when the glass is returned.

  • The city center is well connected by bus and tram; a car is not recommended.
