Welcome to the Bergen International Festival 2027
From Wednesday 26 May to Saturday 12 June 2027, the fjord city of Bergen hosts one of Northern Europe's most prestigious cultural events: the 75th Bergen International Festival (Festspillene i Bergen). Since its founding in 1953, the festival has welcomed more than 70,000 visitors each year and stands as Scandinavia's leading platform for music and performing arts. The 2027 jubilee edition carries special significance: celebrated pianist Leif Ove Andsnes returns as Artist in Residence, becoming the first musician in festival history to hold this role twice, exactly 30 years after his first residency in 1997.

Program
The 2027 festival program spans classical music, opera, theatre, dance, debates and family events. The main stage is Grieghallen, which hosts the opening concert each year and seats 1,434 in the main hall. Further venues include the medieval Håkonshallen, Troldhaugen (the historic home of composer Edvard Grieg), Bergen Cathedral (dating from 1150), Den Nationale Scene theatre, and outdoor stages throughout the city. The full program is released progressively on the official website. The festival is held under the patronage of His Majesty King Harald V of Norway and is directed by Lars Petter Hagen.
Tickets
Tickets for individual events are available through the official festival website fib.no and at the Grieghallen box office. Prices vary by event and venue and are listed on each program page. Members of the FiB Fordel loyalty program receive up to 30% discount on selected events and early access to presales. A number of outdoor concerts, exhibition openings and select performances are free of charge. Popular events regularly sell out; early booking is strongly recommended.
