Welcome to the Bremen Freimarkt 2027

From October 15 to 31, 2027, the Bürgerweide in Bremen turns into a huge funfair once again. With roots reaching back to the year 1035, the Freimarkt is one of the oldest and largest folk festivals in Germany, affectionately known to locals as "Ischa Freimaak".

Highlights and Attractions at the Bremen Freimarkt

• Around 50 fairground rides, from thrilling roller coasters to Ferris wheels and ghost trains
• More than 300 vendors offering stalls, games and classic fairground food
• A second, smaller festival area right in the city center, the Kleiner Freimarkt at the market square and around the Liebfrauenkirche
• The traditional Freimarkt parade on the second Saturday of the festival, featuring numerous groups and marching bands
• Local treats such as gingerbread hearts, roasted almonds, Schmalzkuchen and Bremer Knipp
• An opening ceremony with a traditional keg tapping by Bremen's mayor

For 17 days the whole city turns into a festival ground. The main site on the Bürgerweide, between the central station and the exhibition center, covers more than 100,000 square meters and also includes a historic market village.
