Glastonbury Festival 2027: The Return to Worthy Farm

After taking 2026 as a traditional fallow year to allow the farmland to recover ecologically, the world-famous Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts is set to make a triumphant return in June 2027. From June 23 to 27, 2027, Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset, will once again become the epicenter of the global music and arts scene. Attracting over 200,000 attendees and spanning an area the size of a small city, it remains the largest greenfield festival in the world.

Highlights

  • 2027 Comeback: The highly anticipated return following the farm's rest year
  • Over 100 stages, featuring the iconic Pyramid Stage, the Other Stage, and the legendary late-night area of Shangri-La
  • Representation of all musical genres alongside theatre, circus, cabaret, and political speaker forums
  • Strict environmental policies: No single-use plastic bottles sold on site (Leave No Trace philosophy)
  • Vast camping areas included in the ticket price, located right on the festival grounds

Program

The gates open for campers on Wednesday morning, June 23. The first two days are dedicated to arts, culture, smaller gigs, and exploring the massive site (including areas like The Green Fields and Arcadia). The main musical programming on the primary stages begins on Friday and culminates in the legendary headline performances on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. The full line-up is traditionally revealed in the late spring of 2027.

Tickets

Securing a ticket for Glastonbury requires a unique process. To even attempt to buy a ticket, prior registration with a passport-style photo is strictly mandatory to prevent ticket touting. The main ticket sale (including coach travel packages) is expected to take place in October/November 2026. Prices are estimated to be around £355 to £365 (approx. €420). A resale of canceled tickets will follow in spring 2027.

Travel & Practical Tips

  • The festival encourages green travel: Coach + Ticket packages are sold a few days before general admission tickets.
  • For those traveling by train, the closest station is Castle Cary, where free shuttle buses operate directly to the festival gates.
  • Given the sheer size of the site and the unpredictable British weather, packing excellent, waterproof footwear (wellies) is highly recommended.
  • Both cash and contactless card payments are widely accepted, with multiple ATMs available across the site.
