Welcome to the Lübeck Christmas Market 2026
From 23 November to 30 December 2026, the historic Old Town of Lübeck transforms into the "Christmas City of the North". Surrounded by the picturesque backdrop of UNESCO World Heritage sites and magnificent red-brick Gothic architecture, various themed markets around the Town Hall and St. Mary's Church offer an unforgettable winter experience.

Program
The festive opening of the Christmas city generally takes place around 24 November, often featuring a procession of lights. The outdoor markets are open Sunday to Thursday from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, and Fridays and Saturdays until 10:00 PM. The market is completely closed on 24 and 25 December, and opens at 1:00 PM on 26 December. Beyond the classic stalls, the daily program is filled with traditional crafts and culinary highlights from the north.

Admission to the main traditional Lübeck Christmas market in the Old Town streets is completely free. Some specific indoor craft markets (such as those in the Hospital of the Holy Spirit or St. Petri) may charge a small entrance fee.

- Make sure to taste the world-famous authentic Lübeck Marzipan during your visit.
- The Old Town is highly walkable; arriving by train at Lübeck Central Station is strongly recommended.
- Explore the various themed areas, from the maritime harbor market to the historical medieval section.

- Please keep in mind that the market is closed on Christmas Eve (Dec 24) and Christmas Day (Dec 25).
