When does Roskilde Festival 2027 take place?
The Roskilde Festival (RF27) runs from 26 June to 3 July 2027. The dates are already officially confirmed, and ticket sales for the upcoming edition opened right after the 2026 festival wrapped up. Roskilde is one of Europe's largest and oldest music festivals, traditionally drawing more than 130,000 participants.
Where is the festival held?
The festival takes place at Dyrskuepladsen, also known as Festivalpladsen, at Darupvej 19, 4000 Roskilde. The town of Roskilde sits about 30 kilometers west of Copenhagen and is easily reached by train from the Danish capital in a matter of minutes. For one week each year, the site turns into one of the largest temporary cities in Denmark.

What makes Roskilde Festival different?
Unlike many large commercial festivals, Roskilde is non profit and run with the help of around 27,000 volunteers. All surplus has gone toward charitable and cultural projects, mainly benefiting children and young people, since the festival was founded in 1971. The program spans a wide musical range, from rock and pop to hip hop and electronic music, spread across several stages including the legendary Orange Stage. The lineup for 2027 has not been announced yet.
How much does a ticket cost?
Anyone who wants to secure a spot early can register for the Smart Ticket: payment is split into eight installments of DKK 327 plus a one time fee of DKK 100, bringing the total to DKK 2,720 (roughly 365 euros). The first installment is charged in late August, and the finished ticket arrives by post in April 2027. Regular ticket sales for RF27 open in autumn 2026; children under 10 get free access.
How do you get there and where do you stay?
Besides the stages, the festival site includes a huge camping area, typically holding around 50,000 tents, and camping is included in the ticket price. The easiest way to get there is by train to Roskilde, followed by the festival shuttle bus or a walk to the site. Warm clothing, sturdy shoes and rain gear are essential, since Danish summer weather can change quickly.
